I tried to romanticize the rainy season last week to the Australian of my heart and I have been truly served!
We arrived in Okinawa in the early days of the tsuyu. The hotel that was supposed to offer us the best that Okinawa could offer was only a shabby building in the rain.
We needed to organize a day of activities for 4 children. Mrs. Sano, full of energy as usual had already made the reservation of two small cars so that we can go around the island.
She had set her sights on the aquarium in the north of the island. Yes indeed, it made sense, contemplating the aquatic environment would allow us to forget the floods outside.
We proudly braved the rain bucketing down.
Raphaël was in a bad mood. He had woken up too early and his car seat was designed for a Lilliputian. This umpteenth foreign language started to hurt his ears.
He gave a worried look to the 9-month baby of Masuyo and decided to end his night there, in this tiny car under these unlikely waterfalls.
In which strange country had Mummy Pig taken him this time?
Two hours later, the downpour was still going but we had reached the destination chosen by Madam Sano. I must confess that this aquarium is worth its reputation and that the tanks we saw are the biggest and the most beautiful I have ever visited.
Once he took off his yellow raincoat from Brittany, Raphaël was ready for one of the best experiences of his life. Watching the multicolored fish, whales and sharks became a full-fledged activity.
My little boy was speechless in front of the aquatic mysteries and he was pointing his finger to his sister to show her all the wonders he discovered.
Meanwhile, Héloïse remained very pragmatic: “Yes Raphaël, those fishes are similar to the ones that you can find frozen in the fridge.”
The coldness of her sister did not damp his enthusiasm and in the end, we spent more than four hours in this giant aquarium protected from the tsuyu and the bad weather.
